Messinas

Keep them out now.
Bring them in later.

A deer repellent ribbon barrier for food plots and crop fields.  Hang it, treat it, and keep deer, elk and moose out while your plot grows. Take it down when you’re ready, and deer return to a full plot.

How it works

Shop Plotsaver

Which one is right for you?

Start with a kit, add what you need.

2-Acre kit

Starting out. Ribbon and a quart of repellent, enough for a plot of about 2 acres.

Ribbon

Bigger plots. Add rolls to go around more ground, or add lines for fawns, elk and moose.

Repellent Concentrate

Monthly refills. Quart, gallon and 2.5 gallon sizes to retreat your ribbon every 30 days.

Why Plotsaver

You put a lot into a food plot: seed, fertilizer, tillage, sometimes the land rent itself. Plotsaver protects all of it.

Treat the edges, not the acres

You treat only the ribbon around the plot, not every acre inside it. A quart treats up to 5,440' of ribbon.

Reuse it for years

Stored properly, the ribbon can be reused for up to 10 years. Each season you only buy repellent.

Bring them back when you’re ready

Take the ribbon down, and deer return to a full, lush plot, usually within 48 hours.

Frequently asked questions

How does Plotsaver work?

Plotsaver Ribbon is hung around your plot at deer muzzle height and treated with Plotsaver Repellent Concentrate. Deer, elk and moose that approach see the ribbon, smell the repellent and touch it, and they turn away instead of coming in to browse.

Is it a fence?

No. Plotsaver doesn’t physically block animals. It uses scent, sight and touch to keep them from entering.

How high do I hang the ribbon?

About 30" high for deer, pulled tight with no sagging. If newborn fawns are present, add a second line at 18". For elk or moose, add a line at 48–60".

How far apart should the posts be?

Every 20'.

How often do I reapply?

Reapply about every 30 days, regardless of rain or watering, or at first sight of animal activity.

Does rain wash it off?

Each treatment lasts for 30 days, regardless of watering, rain and weather.

What happens when I take the ribbon down?

Deer will come back into the area, usually within 48 hours. Many hunters protect the plot while it grows, then take the ribbon down before the season.

How much do I need?

See the chart above. For square plots, one 1,320' roll goes around about 2 acres. If there are multiple blocks, measure the outside edge of each edge, not the entire block of land.

Can I reuse the ribbon?

Yes. Take it down at the end of the season and store it with any unused concentrate. Stored properly, the ribbon can be reused for up to 10 years.

What animals does it work on?

Deer, elk, moose and related species.

Where can I use it?

Around food plots, crop fields, orchards and gardens.
